Gaining a satisfactory score in your IG Toolkit is mandated for all health and social care organisations that process confidential personal information. The IG Toolkit draws together the legal rules and central guidance set out by DH policy and presents them in in a single standard as a set of information governance requirements against which you are required to carry out self-assessments of your compliance.
At IGS-L we strongly believe that the IG Toolkit self-assessment should not be a tick box exercise but rather should be seen as an opportunity to ensure and demonstrate that the controls within your organisation can provide your board, your business partners and most importantly your patients and service users that the confidential information you hold is protected and used appropriately.
We can help you to develop the policies and procedures you need to ensure that you are compliant with the law and National policy as set out in the IG Toolkit. Alternatively we can provide an independent, in depth assessment of the evidence you are intending to submit for your IG Toolkit return. This will not only assess where further development may be required to provide the correct level of assurance but will also prepare your organisation for an independent audit when it is required
